This image pretty much captured the condition of the entire trail.
This one of those races where you wanted to turn back around, go home and crawl back under your comforter. Steady icy rain also made layering difficult. But, as always, we were excited to run a different trail and this one did not fail expectations. Decent gains on both loops with ice packed trails and muddy/snow packed hills. It has been raining and snowing all week so the track was incredibly slick and there were areas that could've been mistaken for an ice rink.
